Day 6 : Visit to the Sports School

Thursday is 'capteh' day for the whole school. All students gathered in the parade square to play capteh; a mass PE for all. Wow! You should see how Shimen students skillfully passed the capteh from one to the other. Though our students were not so familiar with this game, they enjoyed it. Another highlight of the day is our visit to the Sports School. It was really an eye-opener.

In the morning, everybody gathered in the parade square to play capteh. I can play pretty well and pass it to my friends. Yeah!

Today, we play capteh. I did not know how to play and my buddy taught me. But I can only threw it up once and then it dropped.. Later in the afternoon, we visited a famous Sports School in Foshan. Some of the boys tried to carry a heavy weight like the weightlifter but they can only carry it halfway. Only my wushu instructor can carry it all the way up. Wow!

After the lessons, we went to the Sports School. There are a lot of different sports like fencing, basketball, weightlifting, wushu, boxing taekwondo, hockey, athletics and Judo. I had a happy time there.

Some of my friends played basketball with the students in the Sports School. I was amazed when they scored a point. I thought they would not even score one. In the Wushu class at the Sports School, my wushu coach told me to ‘fight’ and show my wushu stunts. I was very scared as the students there were tall and big.

We went to the Sports School today. Though the facilities were not as good as ours in Singapore, the training teams were all very serious in their practices. I am impressed with their skills in sports. We watched a movie today. It is very funny. I learnt how to cook spaghetti, bake a cake and to be honest. I had a wonderful day. I wish that the next day will come quickly.

I saw the Sports teams training hard at the sports School. I really admire them. The basketball players are all very tall and strong. I played a game with them and scored a goal. At night, we watched a funny movie and had a good laugh. We had a great time.

We went to a Sports School. The most entertaining sports is the wushu. It is very, very difficult. I saw the students doing a back flip in the air. “WOW!!!” is the only word I can say.

We visited the Sports School in the afternoon and watch the professional coaches training the students in wushu, fencing, basketball, hockey and many others, I like watching the Kungfu students practising the most. After dinner, four of our friends shared with our Shimen buddies about Singapore. The purpose is to let them understand Singapore better. I enjoyed playing the Chinese capteh during PE the most. I am not a fast learner but I enjoy spending time with my China friends. I am sure I will miss them when I go back to Singapore.

I can't wait to go for my home stay and see how my buddy's house is like. I look forward to see my new 'daddy and mummy'.

We played capteh. It was so difficult to play it. I tried many times but failed. I do not know how the Chinese students can play it so well. I do not really enjoy playing it.

I had a basketball match with a group from China Sports School. It was very fun. I was nervous during the presentation as I was afraid that I would say the wrong thing. Glad it turned out well.
